When Is Good: Scheduling A Meeting The Easy Way

There are quite a few online tools to help you schedule a meeting with a lot of people. Say you’re working with a group of ten people on a multidisciplinary project and you want to schedule a meeting to talk about the design. You could send them all an email with the dates and hours you are available and ask them to tell you when they are available, compare all replies and try to find the best moment for everyone. Quite a task.

Luckily there are tools like Doodle and Meet-O-Matic that can help you with this. You tell them your availability and they will compare it with all the other invitees. I like simplicity though. Especially when it comes to simple tasks like scheduling a meeting. There’s actually only one thing you want to know: when is good?
That is exactly what the makers of When Is Good must have thought. This is how it works: you go to their website, click the days and hours you like, fill in a name for the meeting, your name and email address and that’s it. You will get an email with a link you can forward to your classmates or colleagues and they do the same. They click on the dates and times they like and fill in their names and an optional comment. You will get a notification and the moments everyone is available will be marked bright green. That’s all there is to it. No need for usernames, passwords and settings.
So is it perfect? Well, not really. You can only schedule meetings by the hour, and that could be a major drawback for some people who like to set a more specific time or people who prefer to have shorter meetings than an hour. Assuming all your meeting will take at least one hour is not very efficient. They acknowledge this in their FAQ though, so I assume there will be a solution for this later on.
