A New Logo, a New Theme

From now on Streamlined Mind will have a new theme. It’s the one you’re looking at right now and it’s made by Brian Gardner. Returning visitors might have noticed I was playing around with the design of this website. I tried a few different themes but I wasn’t totally happy with them. There were a lot of small things that I had to adjust or that didn’t work the way wanted. So the last one I used was nice and simple, but the lines were too long which made the articles unpleasant to read.
When I saw Brian Gardners work and especially this theme, I immediately fell in love with the clean look of it. So here it is. With a new logo too. I’m still making a few adjustments so if things aren’t working the way you expect them to, let me know, and I will have a look at it!
I might still change some things here and there, maybe the some colors or fonts, but this is the design I want to stick with for Streamlined Mind.
If you have any questions or remarks on the new theme, please leave a comment and let me know!
Switched To WordPress

From this post Streamlined Mind will be running on WordPress. After only three and a half posts I decided that RapidWeaver wasn’t capable of handling my blogging requests well. There were some issues regarding RSS feeds and summarizing posts that apparently could not be addressed, and it lacks simple comments functionality.

As this website is all about streamlining your work-flow, it should of course be running on a platform that is liked by the author, and when set up, will not need any tweaking to make it work every time a post is added. I do still like RapidWeaver. I discovered its power and ease of use only this year, and I think it’s a great application for creating simple and easy-to-manage websites very fast. It’s just not (yet) powerful enough for blogging. So switching to WordPress right away seemed to be the best decision, without having to migrate too many posts. So here we go again!

Welcome on board! This is Streamlined Mind. A blog about finding solutions to seemingly small problems that get in the way of a streamlined workflow. Streamlined Mind is mainly focused on students and solutions that are helpful to them, but the information given might be just as helpful for anyone else!

There are a lot of methods and tools available to help you getting organized, planning, finishing and presenting your projects, take notes, read and write well. Streamlined Mind will tell you about those tools to help you get your work done in a relaxed and fun way, because even writing a dissertation should be fun, right? Otherwise, why would you start writing it in the first place?
Sometimes work, especially assignments for school you didn’t ask for yourself, can feel heavy and daunting, but with the right planning and tools and a bit of good will, you can make any project fun and successful!
